The following is a brief introduction to the Managing Partners of Houston Drilling Management, L.L.C.
Chris Thomasson, President and co-founder of Houston Drilling Management.

Mr. Chris Thomasson is President and co-founder of Houston Drilling Management. He is involved with the business development and operation of the company as well as serving clients in an advisory role. He began his career with Chevron USA, Inc. in 1976 where he worked as a drilling supervisor on drillships, semi-submersibles, jack-ups, platform rigs, inland barges, and land rigs. His job classification within Chevron included Drilling Project Manager, Drilling Training Supervisor, Drilling Engineer and Drilling Supervisor on assignments both domestic and international.

Mr. Thomasson also served as Vice-President of Turnkey Operations for Triton U.S.A., Inc. The company exhibited steady growth during his tenure, with more than twenty-five wells per year drilled under his immediate supervision. As a drilling consultant, he has served as a drilling supervisor, drilling engineer, and a drilling manager to a number of clients, primarily domestic exploration and production companies operating in the Gulf of Mexico. During the course of these assignments he was responsible for all drilling activities, including well design, procurement of materials and services, and direct supervision of drilling operations.

Mr. Thomasson has operational experience in the Gulf of Mexico, Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Colorado, Wyoming, Utah, Florida, offshore New Jersey, the North Sea, Australia, India, Spain, Brazil, Yugoslavia, Denmark, Holland, Israel, Equatorial Guinea, Ivory Coast, and Ecuador.

He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M University, Class of 1977.

Ken Stanley, Vice-President and co-founder of Houston Drilling Management.

Mr. Ken Stanley serves as Vice-President and is co-founder of Houston Drilling Management. He began his career in 1975 with Chevron USA, Inc. where he worked as a drilling supervisor on a number of rig types. He has supervised floating operations from drillships and semi-submersibles, as well as offshore projects using jack-ups, submersibles and barge rigs. He also has experience on land rigs in remote locations, including helicopter-transportable rigs. During his tenure with Chevron, Mr. Stanley worked as a drilling superintendent responsible for four helicopter rigs operating in the Sudan.

He also supervised five platform rigs drilling extended-reach development wells and performing remedial work in Chevron’s Ninian Field, offshore Scotland. In addition, his North Sea experience includes supervision of exploratory wells drilled in water depths to 2,700 feet from semi-submersible rigs. During his consulting career he has performed duties as a drilling supervisor, drilling engineer, and drilling manager to a number of clients involved in exploration and production activities in both domestic and foreign locations.

Mr. Stanley has operational experience in the Gulf of Mexico, Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Spain, Denmark, Malaysia, China, Tunisia, Sudan, Egypt, Israel, Trinidad, Guatemala and the North Sea.

He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M University, Class of 1975.

Tom Bailey, Managing Partner

Mr. Tom Bailey, Managing Partner began his career with Schlumberger in in 2005 where he worked as a field engineer in Russia, Texas, Louisiana, Italy ending as Integrated Services Manager in the Eastern Mediterranean Region. Since joining HDM in 2013 he has drilling projects in Nicaragua, Ghana, Cote D’Ivoire, Gabon, and Romania. He 2019 he was promoted to Managing Partner of HDM.

He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Materials Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign, Class of 2005. He was also an exchange student at the Princess Sumaya University for technology in Amman, Jordan.

Veera Raman-Managing Partner

Mr. Veera Raman, Managing Partner began his career with Shell in in 1997 where he worked in various groups as petroleum engineer, economic modeling, commercial analysis/negotiations, asset planning / due diligence, project management, financial analysis, operational analysis, oil/gas value chain optimization and drilling /completions. He worked in Texas, Louisiana, Kuwait, Eastern Mediterranean Region, West/North Africa and Australia for Noble Energy and ConocoPhillips. He holds a Bachelor of Business degree from the University of Houston, Texas, Class of 1997.
